Unit Overview:
The following Unit will use Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado” to expand students understanding of mood, irony, higher-level vocabulary, and how to make inferences. In addition to these
areas of growth, students will also compare and contrast the written work by Poe against the film version of the short story. In addition, students will sharpen their persuasive writing skills by doing a final mini-project that will require them to do some minor research.
